Tom Gamache Bio

Tom Gamache experienced the wonder and beauty of the outdoors growing up in New England exploring its many lakes, rivers and mountains. He attended Boston University’s School of Communication where he studied photography and broadcasting. His interest in the popular cultures of broadcasting, music and art continue, but it is in the field of landscape photography where he has found mastery, accomplishment and fulfillment.

After almost 40 years as a professional photographer, Tom Gamache’s name has become synonymous with discriminating natural and cultural landscape photography. His company "Wandering Around Outdoors" was appropriately named for his legendary road trip adventures, often covering many thousands of on-the-ground miles monthly discovering, rediscovering and resolving his experiences into images that capture the art, the power and the ever-changing personality of nature.

Tom offered his first ‘Wandering Around Outdoors’ Landscape Photography Workshop more than a decade ago. His current workshop offerings - the ‘Masters Program’ Landscape Photography Workshops and ‘Art Light” Landscape Photography Field Workshops" combine instructional programs and demonstrations with lively discussions, guided field-work and individual direction.

His awards and gallery exhibitions are numerous. His work appears in many domestic and international books and magazines as well as interpretive displays and visitor centers.
