Photography Workshop Schedule

Badwater at Death Valley - Tom Gamache
A 'WANDERING AROUND OUTDOORS' LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
March 9-11, 2012
Death Valley National Park , CA
A 3 DAY WAO Field Workshop.
Wandering Around Outdoors (‘WAO’) workshops have been designed for photographers and painters of all levels and experience to help them unlock the mysteries of landscape art.
Every ‘WAO’ Landscape Photography Workshop offers a complete in-depth curriculum of enlightening constructive explanations and demonstrations of the artistic principles and subtleties of landscape photography that are essential to the creation of successful landscape art. (Workshop reviews and reports)
As in each of our workshops you will be assisted at every step in exploring the ground rules of great landscape photography. This is an opportunity to learn to “read” the landscape like an artist as you sort through photographic unknowns replacing them with invaluable knowledge, hard fact and new skills. You will also be afforded opportunities to explore your own artistic vision in one of the most beautiful and mysterious places on earth.
Death Valley ‘WAO’ Field Workshops are special events for anyone wanting to capture the mythic aura of the desert landscape. The national park comprises more than 3.3 million acres of spectacular desert scenery, complex geology, undisturbed wilderness and sites of historical interest. Capturing the full scope of this extraordinary location is a challenge for any artist. You will leave with many new practical skills and applications that Tom and Van have discovered and developed during innumerable park visits over decades of work.
Possible shooting locations include: Artist Palette, Badwater, Dante’s View, Aguereberry Point, Scotty’s Castle, Ubehebe Crater, Titus Canyon, Stovepipe Wells Sand Dunes, Wildrose Charcoal Kilns, Mosaic and Golden Canyons, Devil’s Golf Course and other world famous locations. Workshop headquarters is at the Stovepipe Wells Motel. Workshop motel rooms for attendees are reserved until two weeks prior to workshop.
Accommodations: This Death Valley ‘WAO’ Workshop is held during one of Death Valley's most beautiful and pleasant times of the year. Hotels and campgrounds in Furnace Creek and Stovepipe Wells are likely to be sold out prior to the workshop. Advance reservations are strongly recommended. To guarantee workshop registration and room availability, please plan to register for the workshop and reserve overnight accommodations as soon as possible. Photographers wishing to stay outside the park will find lodging in Beatty Nevada.
Tuition: $795.00 (minimum 6) Registration deadline – when all seats are filled. Board, Room, Transportation, Park Entrance and Use Fees are not included.
